Fisker has Announced its electric vehicle “Ocean SUV” with a polarizing rotating center screen. The early prototype of this electric car first made its debut at this year LA Auto Show.
During the live stream announcement, Fisker founder and CEO Henrik Fisker made a bold revelation. Strikingly, the car has a 17.1-inch touchscreen that rotates between portrait and landscape orientation. This was another addition to the final production version of the car.
Henrik Fisker describes the screen as “In our vehicle we have a screen, on a push of a button, it changes from portrait mode to landscape mode. It just rotates. That is a really cool feature.”
That’s not the only polarizing feature of this car, right at the top is a solar roof. Fisker says that the panels can draw solar energy enough for 1,500 miles of driving per year. These two special features are only available for the most expensive trim of the electric vehicle.
The ” Fisker Ocean Extreme” trim or the limited-edition launch version of the SUV will cost $68,999 and extras for additional options. Also, as standard Ocean Extreme cars are equipped with front and rear heated seats, a richer sound system and other exclusives.

If that $68,999 price puts you off, there’s a $49,999 middle trim “the Ocean Ultra” and a cheaper base model “Ocean Sport” that costs just $37,499. Fisker is aggressively selling the base model with a flexible $379 monthly lease plan and a 30,000-mile yearly drive limit.
The base model has an estimated range of close to 250 miles with 6.9 seconds speed when going from 0-60 miles per hour. The middle trim “Ocean ultra” and ” Ocean extreme” can hit 3.9 seconds speeds in 3.6 seconds respectively for the 0-60 miles per hour mark.
Unlike most electric car startups or companies, Fisker won’t be building any factories for its electric vehicles. Instead, it will be relying on Magna and Foxconn for production space based on an asset-light approach.
