SEC questions Elon Musk over Twitter takeover statement

The US Securities and Exchange Commission is looking into Elon Musk disclosure of his Twitter takeover. It turns that it began they began the inquisition in April but it only recently came to light after the letter became public.

As part of the inquiry, the SEC asks the Tesla boss why the disclosure had not been made within the required 10 days from the date of acquisition as required by law. Additionally, the commission asked for clarification on why he had used the wrong form to make his disclosure; the form that Musk allegedly used was not for a new owner trying to make changes in the company he bought.

Given his problems with the commission in the past and his outspokenness on not regarding it, Elon Musk could be in a whole world of trouble concerning the Twitter deal. As the above statement showed, it could make it difficult for him to accomplish his wish to make Twitter a platform that supports free speech even more because it will require him effecting changes as its new boss.

At this point, one has to ask if this deal is even worth it anymore given the level of drama that it has brought with. Recently, the tech billionaire had questioned how many fake accounts were on the platform and the investigation could lead to changing the company’s value.
