Samsung’s Home SmartThings now offers home energy consumption and monitoring feature. The South-Korean company will be working closely with a list of other company Copper Labs. The other home monitoring company Copper Labs monitor home energy consumption with their wireless AC plug sensors.
Also, in the partnership is Eyedro, this company tracks the power consumption of home appliances including the likes of Water heaters, and HVAX systems. Ideally, Eyedro will show data in real-time of wattage, voltage and amperage via its website for analysis.
Lastly, is the WattBuy company that assists owners to make wiser electrical decisions based on usage. WattBuy also helps users pick among the best rates available.
What’s It About?
Samsung’s SmartThings is its Home platform interference, which is energy efficient and uses a lot of other connected devices. Quite different from Apple’s Homekit and Google’s Amazon, SmartThings utilizes all of the compatible products from these companies.
The SmartThings Hub is Samsung’s only in-house device, used for all connectivity. The South Korean company bought SmartThings for $200 million in 2014.
If you have tons of Samsung products, then it makes sense to use its SmartThing platform. Especially if you own a Samsung smartphone, which has all its features unknown to you.
