Samsung new ad campaign for Galaxy S22 Ultra and the Z Flip4 is a shade to Apple’s iPhone 14. And it is not the first time either.
While Apple is conservative in their interaction with phone making rivals, Samsung and Google are not so subtle.
In a recent video ad campaign to promote its 2022 high-end smartphones, Samsung found a way to mock iPhone users. It starts the ad with; “Buckle up for Apple’s latest launch as you enter a world where heads will turn… just not in your direction.”
Then it teases that iPhone users would miss out on the powerful camera that Samsung users are going to enjoy. And concludes with: “…this innovation is not coming soon to an iPhone near you, it’s already here.”

The company mocked the iPhone X’s notch and download speeds in 2018 and a year before that, it had pocked at the fact that Apple was removing the 3.5mm headphone jack. Although, the iPhone maker had the last laugh as Samsung too later removed the jack from its Galaxy Note 10.
In August 2022, Google launched a #GetTheMessage campaign and even went as far as tagging Apple on Twitter over what it called a need for it to fix its messaging service to stop disrupting cross device messaging.
“Apple turns texts between iPhones and Android phones into SMS and MMS, out-of-date technologies from the 90s and 00s. But Apple can adopt RCS—the modern industry standard—for these threads instead. Solving the problem without changing your iPhone to iPhone conversations and making messaging better for everyone,” the Android company had said.
In all the instances mentioned above, Apple has failed to reply, choosing to focus instead on its business.
