Samsung Display at the recently concluded CES 2022 event revealed some of the concept screen designs for its forthcoming foldables. The South Korean company has loads of prototype folding devices that showed off these concept screens.
The ‘Flex S’ is a multi-foldable device that a triple-wide screen setup. Another screen is the smaller ‘Flex G’ is pocket friendly literally, allowing the device to fold inwards twice in order to protect the screen.
The company also displayed a 17-inch foldable laptop which we might see go into production. Foldable smartphone maker Samsung recently announced its Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Z Fold 3 sold aggressively in 2021. Although the company didn’t post any sales figures, it says it sold almost 4x the amount it sold in 2020.
In its blogpost, Samsung says the foldable sales in its first month surpassed “total accumulative sales of Samsung foldable devices in 2020.” Due to its early arrival to the foldable market, the South Korean company is projected to close to 88 percent of the spoils.

Its foldable are definitely defining the future of smartphone innovation. Although they face fierce competition from the likes of Oppo, and Huwaei for innovative products. The previous version of Samsung’s Z Fold and Flip 3 was plagued by fit and finish hence their low sales.
But the company has turned things around with its latest offering, and will probably get better with the release of the fourth version in 2022. Its Infinity Flex Display and UTG enabled the world’s first folding glass display.
The company is also actively investing in Research and Development in order to maintain its position in the Foldable market. In its blog post, it reaffirms its commitment to work with app developers and industry partners like Google.
