Samsung Announces Two New Galaxy Book Laptops At Its Unpacked Event

Samsung has announced two entry-level Galaxy Book laptops at its Unpacked event: the Galaxy Book and the Galaxy Book Flex2 Alpha.

 


The Galaxy Book will sell for around $800, although Samsung says that the price is still subject to change. It’s also due to launch in the second half of 2021. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Book Flex2 Alpha starts at $849 and is available for preorder now, shipping in mid-May.

 


The Galaxy Book has a 15.6-inch 1080p TFT LCD display. It supports up to two fast NVMe SSDs and has two USB-C ports, two USB-A 3.2 ports, an HDMI port, a headphone jack, a microSD card slot, and an optional nano-SIM tray for LTE. . One of the USB-C ports can recharge the laptop with the included 65W charger.

According to Samsung, it will be available in Intel Pentium Gold or Celeron processor options up to 11th Gen Intel Core i5 or i7 processors. There’s also the option of opting for the Iris Xe integrated graphics, or Nvidia’s GeForce MX450 discrete graphics. The Galaxy Book can be upgraded to 16GB of RAM.

 


The Galaxy Book comes in silver or blue, with every configuration coming with a 54Wh battery.

The Galaxy Book Flex2 Alpha comes in two sizes: 13.3 and 15.6 inches. Both have a 1080p QLED display, and either Intel’s 11th Gen i5 or i7 processors with the 13-inch model starting at $849.

 


It includes 8GB of RAM, and supports up to 16GB, with a maximum storage of 512GB. If has two USB-A 3.0 ports, a USB-C port, a headphone jack, a power plug, HDMI, and a microSD slot. It also features a 54Wh battery.
