Samsung has announced its next-gen RAM technology that will be powering the metaverse and mobile phones. The company says these chips will be used in future cars and servers.
The semiconductor company is promising its newer LPDDR5X RAM chips offers people a chance to enter the “digital reality.” According to Samsung, this will also offer 1.3x processing speeds compared to its current LPDDR5 chips.
Also capable of these new RAM chips is higher density capabilities, up to 64GB per chip the company claims. This will also use 20 percent less power than the LPDDR5 chips. Most of this is made possible by the newer 14nm processing Samsung is capable of.

The Electronics company smartphones sales did poorly due to the global pandemic, and “production disruptions” in its factories. Samsung Electronics made revenue of $63.67 billion when compared to last year’s second quarter. Profit stood at $8.37 billion (9.63 trillion won) which increased by 73% from 5.56 trillion a year earlier.
Despite being the top smartphone vendor for the last quarter, Samsung’s memory chip business grew tremendously as it supplied to other tech companies like Apple.
As the pandemic flaunted through the past months. There has been a high demand for data servers, smartphones, and personal computers for remote work. All of which require memory chips to work.
Although, Samsung’s chip inventory level has fallen to a substantially low level due to the stronger shipment last quarter than the previous guidance. There is no news on when the newer LPDDR5X RAM chips will be available to smartphone manufacturers.
However, we are excited about the possibilities the new chips can improve our cars, servers and Samsung’s plans for the “Metaverse”
