Contrary to what people claimed after GTA 6 leaked footage, Rokstar Games has hinted that it was a hack.
There had been claims that an employee leaked the footage. Meanwhile, the official statement begged to differ. Although, the game developers said that they did not expect any disruption in their live game services.
Initially, the GTA 6 leak news had been thought to be doctored. However, following Rokstar Games’ confirmation, it turns out that it is the real thing. Yet, the makers say that is early development footage. So, the final game may look slightly different from what was shown in the leak.

The alleged ‘third party’ had shared about 90 videos on the fan page, GTAForums. Known as the alias ‘teapotuberhacker’, the hacker also claimed to be behind the recent Uber hack, according to a report by TechCrunch.
The GTA 6 leaked footages show playable male and female characters and how the gameplay looks in the Miami-themed fictional world of the video game.
Another important detail to note is that the leaks span development across several years, which makes sense because GTA6 has been in development since 2014, after GTA V was released in 2013.
For now, Rokstar Games has not revealed when it plans to release the game. Analysts are guessing that GTA 6 release date would be in late 2024 or early 2025. It is likely that these leaks could force it to move up its plans.
