Resident Evil 4 producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi has confirmed that the remake game is in its ‘final spurt’ and is still on track for its March 24, 2023, release date.
Fans were beginning to worry about the game’s release because of the apparent lack of marketing. The survival horror game, being developed by Capcom, has been under development since 2018.
However, the major work started in earnest in 2021 when nearly the same team that remade Resident Evil 2 (2019) took over the development. Capcom revealed the game in June 2022, teasing that the storyline will be reimagined but the essence, preserved. The company added that they are modernising the graphics and updating controls to modern standards.
Since then, fans have only seen some trailers and previews. So, they are right to worry as lack of information about a game that is barely three months away usually spells a delay.
“We are working hard to provide you with more information about Resident Evil 4 in preparation for its release on March 24th. The game is also in the final spurt so the team will be united and make it a little better. Please wait just a little longer,” Hirabayashi had said in reassurance.
The Resident Evil 4 remake is one of the most anticipated video games of 2023 and it is set to release on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S. Additionally, the game will support PS VR2 headset.
