South Korea has requested that Interpol issue a red notice on Do Kwon, the out-of-favour Terraform Labs co-founder. In the latest development, the country’s prosecutors said that Kwon was on the run.
Recall that the country had issued an arrest for him and since he is not in the country, the authorities requested that he submit himself to them when he returns.
However, it seems like he has no plan to do so anytime soon. His initial response to the case was that he had not received any formal charge from the prosecutors. Then, over a month ago, the South Korean authorities said that he contacted them through his lawyer with his intention not to show up for questioning.
Now, they claim that he is plotting to escape, according to circumstantial evidence that they gathered.

If the red notice alert does go out for Do Kwon, it will mean that he could be refused visas, prevented from crossing borders, and arrested by the local police where he is.
Meanwhile, in a Twitter thread, Kwon said that he is not on the run and has plans to defend himself while cooperating fully.
“I am not “on the run” or anything similar – for any government agency that has shown interest to communicate, we are in full cooperation and we don’t have anything to hide. We are in the process of defending ourselves in multiple jurisdictions – we have held ourselves to an extremely high bar of integrity, and look forward to clarifying the truth over the next few months,” he said on Saturday.
