The company has pricier Opus headphones, it launched last year. These Opus X are a little stripped-down version of that headphone. Razer has them available on their site.

Still maintaining a similar design language to the Opus, these headphones seem to be made of cheap plastic hence the price. The colors available are green, white and pink.

The color option is targeted at youthful souls, the Opus X’s power button handles noise cancellation and the “Quick Attention” mode similar to Apple’s audio “transparency” mode lets you hear your surroundings.

An exclusive feature to the Opus X is Razer’s low-latency “Gaming Mode”, which reduces latency over Bluetooth to 60 milliseconds.

Comfort-wise, the Opus X has rotating ear cups so they can rest comfortably around your neck when they are not in use. There is no 3.5mm jack, just a USB-C port they also connect to audio through Bluetooth.

The original Opus retailed at $200, available in more conservative colors of back and midnight blue. Fully equipped with a headphone jack and an automatic pause or play music/video feature, when removing or putting them on.

The Opus X is almost a direct competition to Microsoft’s Xbox wireless Headset at the same price point of $100. The Xbox is slightly ahead with more features, but Razer’s Opus X exclusive low-latency “Gaming Mode” is a bonus for core gamers.

The new Opus X claims to have up to 40 hours of battery life with noise cancellation off or 30 hours with noise cancellation on. Now that’s a big claim for you gamers to test.
