Rapper Drake Reportedly Looses £1.7million bet after Israel Adesanya Failed To Beat Alex Pereira At UFC 281

At UFC 281, which took place on Saturday, November 12, Canadian rapper Drake lost a sizable seven-figure sum after betting on former middleweight champion Israel Adesanya to defeat Brazilian Alex Pereira.

The 33-year-old Adesanya was the betting favorite to win the contest, and he would have paid Drake £2.4 million if he had been successful inside the Octagon.

Pereira snatched the win in the fifth and final round with a left hook that sent the former champion to the canvas, and the bout to an end.

Drake is accustomed to making huge bets; in the El Clasico between Real Madrid and Barcelona this season, he previously lost £537,000 on Barcelona while winning over £ 3 million on English UFC stars Paddy Pimblett and Molly McCann.

Meanwhile Israel Adesanya has reflected on losing his UFC 281 belt to Alex Pereira on Sunday morning.

“I’ve been doing this, this is my third fight in 10 months.

“Every time I fight, I risk losing what you guys deem as the prestigious — which it is — the belt and all that,” Adesanya said.

He also highlighted how things started to go wrong in the fifth round.

It was a kick to his calf that left him with a dead leg.

“He hit my peroneal nerve, so that’s why my footwork was compromised.

“Even when I tripped and went backward, I had to do the roly poly. Because I was like, ‘Oh s—, I just tripped over, it’s not like me.’

“So, kudos to him for investing in those calf kicks because it cost me,” Adesanya added.

He also assured that “I’ll be back, it’s not over yet” in a hint that he would take a rematch against Pereira.

But in the meantime we would love to advise that Drake stays clear off betting for now

Man has been incurring huge losses of late.
