According to several reports on the internet, Veteran actress Racheal Oniga is dead.
The actress is reported to have passed on in the early hours of July 31st, 2021 at age 64.
A news outlet GoldMyne TV broke the news of her death on Instagram. While the cause of her death is yet unknown, the actress is reported to have recently shot some scenes of her movie still in production at Mowe, Ogun State.
She’s said to have been in and out of the hospital for an undisclosed illness and died in her Lagos residence. Her family is still in shock over her sudden demise, the source disclosed.

Though originally from Eku, Delta State, Oniga was born in Ebutte-Meta Yaba, Lagos State in 1957. She launched her acting career in 1993 with her film “Onome” after her divorce.

She’s featured in several Nigerian films after that including “Sango”, Owo Blow (1997), Passion of Mind (2004), “Power Of Sin”, “Restless Mind” and most recently, Niyi Akinmolayan’s “My Village People”. Rachel Oniga became a grandmum when her daughter, Georgia, put to bed.

Her death comes even as the Nigerian entertainment industry is grappling with the death of rapper and singer Sound Sultan.
