“Prophetess”: See How A Football Prediction Puts Lives In Grave Danger

Niyi Akinmolayan’s “Prophetess” dropped on Netflix in July and it was well anticipated on the streaming platform.

"Prophetess": See How A Football Prediction Puts Lives In Grave Danger

In the film, Ajoke ( Toyin Abraham), a local Spiritualist, makes a bogus prediction about a football match which sets off a chain of events that escalate beyond her control. With her life threatened by several aggrieved parties, she enlists the help of her twin sister to save her.

The film had its shortcomings. First, the film was just too long, with lengthy scenes and leaves viewers wondering if the actors were adding their lines to the script.

There also repeated flash back scenes that were unnecessary as the message was already passed across. It seems the director was just dragging the story so it becomes a two hours watch.

Nevertheless “Prophetess” is a good watch, with lessons for every member of the family. It speaks about siblings love and why people need to remain close knitted.

The film had an array of Nollywood stars that brought the script of the movie to light. Kunle Remi, Kehinde Bankole, Deyemi Okanlawon, Lateef Adedimeji and a host of other actors used their talent to flesh the script in an artistic way.

Not to forget the location and costumes which were equally top notch.

“Prophetess” is still on Netflix, so head to the streaming platform to have a feel of the movie.
