Popular Yoruba Actor Ogun Majek Dies From Prolonged Illness

Popular Yoruba actor, Gbolagade Akinpelu popularly known as Ogun Majek has died. The actor reportedly died Thursday morning at his hometown, Imalefalafia, Oke-Ado, Ibadan home.

 

The veteran actor died from a prolonged illness that had been affecting his health.

 

The President of Theatre Arts and Movie Practitioners Association of Nigeria, Bolaji Amusan, aka Mr. Latin confirmed the news of his death. Veteran actor and filmmaker, Tunde Ola-Yusuf, also confirmed the incident in a Facebook post.

“From him, we come and onto him, we shall return. Alh. Gbolagade Akinpelu Ogunmajek has returned to his creator.

“May God Almighty rest his soul among the righteous.” The post reads

Meanwhile, the news of his death is coming barely 48 hours after the death of actor Bose Adedoyin better known as Madam Tinubu.

 

Best known for her role as Madam Tinubu in the film  “EFUNROYE TINUBU”  she died on Tuesday 23rd, June 2020.

 

Until her death, Bose Adewoyin was a staff of the Lagos State Council for Arts and Culture, where she had participated in many editions of the National Festival of Arts and Culture, NAFEST.

 

Other actors and actresses who have passed on this year include Kayode Odumosu, Emilia Duke, Patience Oseni Frank Dallas, amongst others.
