The decoy team of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) has arrested Olufowoke Oladunjoye Emmanuel; the brain behind the blackmail of veteran singer Queen Salawa Abeni.
The 19-year-old suspect was picked on Thursday 28th May 2020 after three days of monitoring him.
Olufowoke Oladunjoye who is a National Diploma holder of Yaba College of Technology threatened to publish n*de photos of the singer on the 1st of April 2020.
However, Queen Salawa Abeni was quick to publish the said photos on her Instagram page that same day.
In her post, she revealed that she is being blackmailed online by someone with her n*de photos from the past.
She also expressed her disappointment at the person who has been blackmailing her over the said photos.

Olufowoke in his statement to the Police confessed to being the mastermind of the blackmail.
He had threatened to publish the pictures of the singer in exchange for money. He also added that he was alone in the scheme.

The suspect disclosed that he saw the n*de pictures in a memory card which he picked up on the floor in Yabatech sometime in November 2019.
“I thought everything was going on fine until the following day when I heard the news of the blackmail over the radio. I was with my mother.
She was even cursing the blackmailer unknown to her that I was the brain behind it.
I immediately sneaked out, destroyed the memory card, and threw my mobile phone and SIM card into a nearby wetland in Magboro.
Since then, I never mentioned it to anyone and called Madam Salawa Abeni about it again”, he disclosed.
Commenting on the arrest, Lagos State Commissioner Of Police, Hakeem Odumosu advised guardians to monitor their wards.
Furthermore, he emphasized that the internet is a fertile ground but the State Command will not allow criminals to use it as a venue to exploit law-abiding Lagosians.
