Swedish carmaker Polestar has released the production-ready car of its concept Precept electric vehicle. This new car is called the “Polestar 5” and it will begin production in far away 2024.
The Polestar brand is the electric vehicle arm of the Volvo and parent company Geely. In comparison with Tesla, the Model 3 and Polestar 2 go neck in neck but edge out each other in some areas.
Interestingly, design-wise the “2” is a more beautiful vehicle with better interior design as well as build quality. While, the Model 3 has more mile range, is cheaper and with better driving technology.
Polestar continues its Scandinavian design with this electric sedan, that has sporty looks and a Google Android-powered infotainment system. The new Polestar 5 sedan is a four-door hatchback, supposedly “an electric performance 4-door Grand Touring car.”

The new car was first revealed as a Precept concept in far back February 2021. The performance-based vehicle will definitely compete with the likes of Lucid Air, Mercedes Benz EQS and Tesla’s Model S Plaid.
There was no release of the official specifications such as battery range, size, price and also the different trims. However, the striking feature of the Polestars is the use of sustainable and recyclable materials.
The Polestar 5 has interior panes as well as seatback made entirely of “flax-based composites” and 3D-knitted from recycled PET bottles.” Its headrest is made from recycled cork vinyl as well as feet resting carpets are made from reclaimed fishing nets.
Its newest Sedan “5” joins the already discounted Polestar 1, the good looking “2” and the SUV “3” and “4”. It will rely heavily on Google’s Automotive infotainment system that recognizes each driver preferred driving settings.
