PlentyWaka Collaborates With Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing (IVM) For South East Nigeria

PlentyWaka collaborates with Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing (IVM) for South-East Nigeria as it plots to understand and satisfy Nigerian travel demands.

Under this association, IVM, Nigeria’s first indigenous car producer, will reinforce Plentywaka’s fleet with more new vehicles as the bus hailing startup plans to break into South-eastern Nigeria and they begin with Delta state in Q4 2020.

Plentywaka’s fast advancement is giving no indications of them back down. The company has over 200,000 rides and 40,000+ application downloads.

The startup declared its development in Abuja in August 2020. And Plentywaka’s collaboration with IVM comes highly applauded as a well known and respected brand with a hunger to effect change in Nigeria. It signals a change in transportation through technological innovation and advancement.

At present, passengers in the locality face security issues, solace, and comfort. These problems torment Nigerian transport. Plentywaka makes significant strides to usher better solutions to these issues. Offering the same accomplishment in Lagos and Abuja, they hope to overhaul the transport condition in the Eastern states.

Speaking on the collaboration, the Co-Founder and CEO at Plentywaka, Onyeka Akumah, expressed: “This is a major step towards developing a robust and reliable transport system built by Nigerians for Nigerians. We are two brands that have lived through an outdated transport system in Nigeria and we’re joining forces to bring our country into an era that is long overdue and driven by technology.

“We know what our people want and we know what they deserve – a safer, more comfortable and efficient means of transport and as the traction in our first year shows, we have the technology to make this a reality. With IVM on board, we’re breaking into new territory so riders in the South-eastern states are not left behind.”

Through the Plentywaka platform, the organisation has streamlined development for passenger movement via a two-step process.

  1. Schedule a journey and book a seat and
  2. option to pay for rides using the wakapurse e-wallet.

With this arrangement, Plentywaka extends its scope of choices for riders. Pushing them to exploit the flooding interest for its services. The CEO and Founder at IVM, Dr Innocent Chukwuma, included:

“We’ve been closely monitoring Plentywaka’s progress since its launch in September 2019 and their growth has been very impressive in such a short space of time. From our conversations with their founding team, we saw a company that was hungry and unprepared to rest on their laurels, which is why we were keen to support them in the next phase of their expansion.

“Today marks a partnership between two industry leaders and our ambition is for this to develop a firm foundation for Nigeria to become a leader in bus travel across Africa. With our manufacturing expertise and Plentywaka’s strengths in tech and customer service, we are very confident we can achieve this and look forward to a long and successful relationship.”

Established in 2007 by Innocent Chukwuma, Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing (IVM) is important to the Innoson Group. It is a primary ‘Made In Africa’ car brand. IVM’s assembling plant is situated in Anambra State, Nigeria. The partnership with Plentywaka is the first of its sort for the organisation. It marks its initial passage into the e-hailing space.
