After February scare, OnlyFans has now temporarily blocked Russian creators from the platform as economic sanctions tighten over Ukraine invasion.

OnlyFans has revealed that it is pausing accounts receiving payments from Russia. In a statement, the company explains:

“OnlyFans is a creator first business. Over the past few months we have explored several options to continue providing our services to creators impacted by the Russia / Ukraine war. However due to a further tightening of payment restrictions to and from Russia, OnlyFans can no longer properly serve our Russian creator community. As a result, we are taking steps to temporarily pause accounts where payments are received in Russia. We have asked impacted creators to contact support@onlyfans.com who can help address any queries regarding their accounts.”

In February, during a flurry of tech activities against the Putin-led administration, Russian OnlyFans creators had been unable to access their accounts for sometime. However, it was restored  and payments continued.

This time around, it appears to be a more broader move to make things harder for Russia as it continues its invasion of Ukraine. Many affected creators have confirmed that the platform has locked them out.

With Google ads paused on both publishing and YouTube platforms, it gets harder for content creators in Russia to make money. The pressure keeps mounting for the people there and likely, the government.
