Oniduro: Tope Alabi Apologises To Adeyinka Alayesori For Criticising Her Song

Gospel singer Tope Alabi has apologised to colleague Adeyinka Alaseyori for criticising her song Oniduromi.#Oniduromi Saga- Adeyinka Alayesori Calls For Peace With Tope AlabiEarlier this week, Tope Alabi came under fire for saying the holy spirit revealed to her that it was displeased with Alaseyori’s latest song “Oniduro”.

Adeyinka Alaseyori had in a song describing God as her (spiritual) guarantor. The song, “Oniduro mi e seun”, meaning ‘thank you my guarantor’, became very popular among the people of the South West.

However, at an event, Tope Alabi said it is wrong for people to tag God as their guarantor. She claimed that she wanted to sing the song, but the Holy Spirit told her to shut up.

She was soon criticised so much that she trended on social media apps for days. According to a gospel news website Church gist, Tope Alabi has apologised to Alaseyori.

“I am awfully sorry for doing that,” the singer is reported to have said about her comments.

She also dismissed allegations that she was jealous of Alaseyori saying;

“Adeyinka is my daughter in ministry. Her Pastor asked me to pray for her because she took after me, which I did wholeheartedly. Envy who? Never! I love the girl so much,” she reportedly said.

“The atmosphere is wide enough for everyone to stretch her wings of gift without disturbing one another.”

She further added that she is still ” a work in progress in the hands of God”.

Alaseyori on her part had earlier called for peace, asking her followers to stop commenting negatively on the issue.

If you love God, please in God’s name, don’t comment otherwise. The peace of God and the God of peace fill our hearts. We receive grace to rise above all weakness. The hand of God wrap and shield us all. The power of God do the unimaginable in our lives. Mercy of God speak forth where we have lost our voices.”
