The IDC is a subsidiary of IDG, the world’s leading technology media, research, and events company. Its Figures show that Apple has shipped close to 12.9 million iPads in the space of last quarter.

This agrees with Apple’s Tim Cook appraisal of the iPad during the tech company’s recent earnings call. Apple has sold the most in the quarter of June, within the space of last 10 years.

Elsewhere, Amazon holds a fourth position in the tablet market with its fire tablets, shipping 4.3 million in the last quarter.

Most of the global shipments surged based on the pandemic, and things might not stay the same. Countries are relaxing restrictions, workers heading back to the offices. Tablets and computers that played a vital role in remote work will lose their demand surge.
