HMD is already rolling out Android 10 updates for the Nokia 2.2 according to reports coming out from Egypt. HMD Global Oy, branded as HMD, is a Finnish mobile phone company that currently makes Nokia phones.

The company had announced Nokia 2.2 in June 2019 with the Android 9 version (nicknamed Android Pie). This new version is labeled V2.300 and it is currently available in Egypt but will be coming to other parts of the world soon.

Android Pie is the ninth major Android release and the 16th version of the Android mobile operating system. It was released publicly on August 6, 2018. According to its Wikipedia page, by March 2020, 40% of Android devices run this Android version.

It is currently the most popular Android version in the market. As GSM Arena reports, the Android 10 update has a dark mode as well as new gesture navigation for Nokia 2.2. There are also better controls for privacy and location.

Still, under its What’s New category, it comes with the Google Security Patch (2020-02).

HMD Global has had to rethink the rollout of its Android 10 updates for its devices in 2020 due to the coronavirus outbreak. HMD Global’s Chief Product Officer Juho Sarvikas announced the change on his official Twitter account. He posted:

“While we have taken all the steps to fight COVID-19, we still aim to be the fastest brand to update its portfolio to Android 10. Although our schedule changed a bit, we’re proud to announce a number of phones will be upgraded soon and excited to share our new roadmap.”

After this, he shared a picture of the new road map. See it below:
