The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMET) forecasts thunderstorm activities over most part of Nigeria on Friday, 28th June 2019. Just the day before, the agency’s “Weather Outlook” predicted there would be cloudy activities in some states.

Also, there was a forecast of localised thunderstorm possibilities. NAN reports that the states mentioned were Yola, Jalingo, Abuja, Bauchi, Jos, Lafia, Makurdi and Mambilla Plateau axis in the morning hours.

Meanwhile, Legit reports that there will be thunderstorms over Kaduna, Sokoto, Ilorin Minna, Bauchi, Yola, Yelwa, Lokoja, Jos, Jalingo and Mambilla Plateau as the day progresses.

NiMET also predicted that they expect morning thunderstorm activities over Gusau, Katsina, Kano, Maiduguri, Nguru and Dutse.

While in Southern states, they expect cloudy conditions with chances of localised rains over Asaba, Enugu, Awka, Owerri, Akure, Osogbo, Benin, Ado-Ekiti, Abeokuta, Port Harcourt and Calabar in the morning hours.

The agency added that they expect intermittent rains over most parts of the region “with day and night temperature values of 28 to 30 degree Celsius and 20 to 24 degree Celsius.”

This is a season for the clouds to remain gloomy and the ground to rain wet. Past predictions have proven accurate and people need to be better prepared for the weather. So, to keep dry, ensure you get your umbrella or raincoat. Also, to stay warm in spite of the cold, take something warm like a warm cup of a beverage.
