Netflix’s “Collision Course” Explains What May Have Triggered 2020 #EndSars Movement

Netflix’s “Collision Course” dropped on Netflix and it’s one film everybody is talking about.

The storyline centers on Mide Johnson,(Daniel Etime Effiong) a promising musician who dumps his law degree and turns his back on his father to pursue his love for music. However, he meets a Police officer ( Kelechi Udegbe) trying to make ends meet. These men share their struggles until tragedy strikes unexpectedly.

Bolanle Austen-Peters proved that she is the master storyteller in this film and didn’t disappoint in any way. Few months after releasing “Man of God”, “Collision Course” is already topping the ranks on Netflix.

The characterisation of the film was top notch. It appears that Hannah (Bamike Adenibuyan) was pregnant for her second child when she acted the film. She played the role of Mide’s pregnant fiancee and had the emotions and body type to pull the character.

The supporting acts especially members of the TARZ squad portrayed the ruthless nature of notorious police officers who brutalise innocent Nigerians. The storyline looks fictional, however a man named Kolade Johnson was murdered by stray bullets in 2020 which triggered the nation wide #Endsars protest.

The protest was a call to the end of Special Anti robbery Squad (SARS) who were known to extort and even kill citizens who do not dance to their tune (pay bribe).

“Collision Course” is a tribute to innocent lives who have unlawfully lost their lives to trigger happy police men and a failed judicial system.
