David A. Arnold, the American stand-up comedian best known for creating the Nickelodeon show “That Girl Lay Lay”, has died.
The family, while announcing the comedian’s demise in a statement on Wednesday, September 7th said the 54-year-old died of “natural” causes.
“It is with great sadness that we confirm the untimely passing of our husband, father, brother, and friend, David A. Arnold”, the statement reads.
“David passed away peacefully today in his home and doctors have ruled the cause of death due to natural causes. Please keep our family in prayer and respect our privacy at this time, as we are all shocked and devastated by this loss.”
David A. Arnold, as a writer and producer, headlined two Netflix comedy specials.

He worked as a writer and producer on the reboot of ‘Fuller House.’ Arnold began his career as a stand-up comedian, appearing at the Montreal Comedy Festival and on Comedy Central’s Jamie Foxx’s Laffapalooza, among other projects.
He wrote for several shows, including TBS’s “Meet the Browns”, TV One’s “The Rickey Smiley Show”, OWN’s “Raising Whitley”, and Tyler Perry’s “House of Payne”.
Arnold’s first stand-up comedy special on Netflix, “David A. Arnold: Fat Ballerina”, debuted in 2019.
“It Ain’t For The Weak”, his follow-up comedy special on the streamer, premiered on July 19, 2022.
