Naira Marley’s trial has been adjourned to 27th and 28th February 2020. The musician was arrested in May 2019 by officers of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on the grounds of over alleged criminal conspiracy and credit card fraud.

Dalhatu Buhari, the first prosecution witness, faced a cross-examination by his counsel Olalekan Ojo (SAN) During his resumed sitting on Thursday, 12th December 2019.

When asked if any expert in cybersecurity could access a computer and do what he likes on it in relation to the credit card details that were allegedly found on the defendant’s computer, he said;

“It is not possible for any expert in cybersecurity to access a computer and do anything he likes on it. This is because there are various aspects of cybersecurity and not all the tools used in cybersecurity are accessible to all the various aspects.”

Buhari also told the court that his analysis only recovered card details allegedly found on Naira Marley’s laptop.

Although, he couldn’t get the date of registration of the administration of the account “because it is exclusive to the Apple Operating System and is only accessible to the company.”

Naira Marley’s trail now adjourns to 27th and 28th February 2020.
