Fast-rising Nigerian artiste, Oyinkansola Aderibigbe, professionally known as Ayra Starr has rebuked naysayers questioning her musical talent.
The Mavin Records artiste, countering claims that she cannot sing, took to Twitter on Tuesday 28th December to explain why her voice has been strained.
“My loves, I’ve been performing almost every day since October. Of course, my voice is strained,” she tweeted.
The Bloody Samaritan singer however maintained that despite the strain, she is still very much talented.

“I be human being, so please dead that ‘Ayra Starr cannot sing bs’, dead it fast fast. It’s all talent and grace here baby,” she wrote on Twitter.
Don Jazzy signed Ayra Starr to his record label, Mavin records in January this year. She is Mavin’s first major signee in two years.
According to Don Jazzy, he met Ayra Starr sometime in 2020 after discovering her talent and she has since been with the Mavin family.
He took to Twitter to make the announcement. He wrote: “Last year I met the most incredible 18-year-old girl, her name is @AyraStarr. It’s been a fantastic experience working behind the scene for over a year and we at Mavin are proud to present her to the world. Pls follow and join me to welcome to MAVIN @ayrastarr #MAVINACTIVATED.”
Ayra Starr released her debut EP shortly after she was unveiled. The 5-track self-titled EP had no features. The 19-year old singer caught the attention of the Nigerian audience with the release of her hit song “Away”.
In August, Ayra Starr released her debut album, “19 and Dangerous”, which earned her the number 2 spot on Billboard’s Next Big Sound chart in the same month.
