Nigerian actor Gabriel Afolayan recently dismissed rumours that his marriage to his wife Adebanke has collapsed. There were speculations that the pair who tied the knot in 2018 have parted ways over alleged infidelity.

Rumours had it that the marriage hit the rocks over an alleged affair between Banky W and Adebanke. However, the couple kept mum over their union after unfollowing each other on social media.

Meanwhile, the 36-year-old actor has dismissed the rumours while stating that his marriage is “very much intact.” He addressed the rumours while speaking with City People magazine.

“That’s actually personal to me. I really don’t want my personal life out there; I always keep that out of the media not because of anything but it is just a personal principle for me. Nevertheless, my marriage is very much intact,” he said.

The movie star also revealed that the union, however, had some challenges which have now been resolved.

Afolayan said his refusal to comment on the issue earlier fuelled the rumours, explaining that he likes to keep his personal life out of the public domain.

“Yes, I heard about the rumours too, but you know, there is no marriage that doesn’t have its own challenges, but we have settled it. My wife just travelled out of the country, and we are very much okay. Just because I didn’t say anything or make it go viral for those looking for sensational stories, they think otherwise. But my marriage is intact,” he added.

Gabriel Afolayan is the brother of versatile producer and director Kunle Afolayan. He has featured in several films, his recent works include “Citation” and “Coming back from Insanity”
