Mr Eazi Partners With Decagon To Train Five Young Software Engineers

Music star and serial entrepreneur, Mr Eazi has announced a partnership with Decagon aimed at helping young Nigerians become software engineers. Under the partnership, Mr Eazi is to sponsor five residents or indigenes of Ogun State to attend Decagon’s software engineering training programme.

 

The sponsorship is to cover the six months training programme and will include; accommodation, feeding, laptop, internet, and a monthly stipend. There will also be immediate job placement into companies like; Access Bank, Sterling Bank, and Etranzact on completion of the program.

 

CEO of Decagon, Chika Nwobi, said; “For some who do not have access to someone in their family or network to stand in for them, Mr Eazi is providing a lifeline and this is the type of collaboration that will move Nigeria forward”.

Mr Eazi whose emPawa initiative provides aims to provide funding for hundreds of upcoming African artists also expressed his excitement about the Decagon partnership. “I’ve always been passionate about helping young people and pushing them to be the best version of themselves. For some of them, their talents naturally align with software engineering. I am happy to support this initiative in the hopes that they can support themselves and their families,” he said.

 

To access the program, interested candidates have to visit http://applications.decagonhq.com. The application closes on 22nd November 2020 and doesn’t require any payment till the trainees have graduated and started working and earning salaries.

 

Additionally, successful applicants need to have a credible guarantor in order to access the programmes Pay-Later model. This is where Mr Eazi steps in; he will guarantee five successful candidates who hail or are residents of Ogun State.
