Several responses have trailed a video of Nollywood actress Funke Akindele going into a trance during worship at the  Celestial Church in Lagos State.

The said video captured the moment the actress and Lagos state deputy governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) disclosed that she was born and raised in the Celestial Church of Christ (CCC).

The actress turned politician asked the church’s clergy to pray for her as she begins her political career.

Stating that she was born and brought up in the Celestial Church.

“I was born and raised in Celestial. My situation was like that of a lost sheep that God calls back home,” she said.

Funke Akindele claimed that she had always returned to the church in secret to seek solutions to problems

while speaking in both Yoruba and English and donning the white robe known as the “sutana” worn by the church.

Meanwhile, in the widely shared video, Funke Akindele can be seen dancing and praying when she was abruptly struck by the spirit and entered a trance.
