The media player for windows 11 is getting a new design, it’s currently in testing for Windows insiders. This new design draws a lot of inspiration from the Windows 11 UI. This new media player will be replacing the Grove Music app and Windows Media player on older operating systems.
Microsoft’s Windows inbox apps teams senior program manager, Dave Grochocki says that “At the heart of Media Player is a full-featured music library that allows you to quickly browse and play music, as well as create and manage playlists.”
The new Media player will also support video playback, which was playable on the Films & TV app. Microsoft has been rolling out its newest operating system Windows 11 to personal computers. My Windows 11 upgrade prompt came recently, but couldn’t upgrade with my personal computer as a result of old processors.

The company says that “The availability of Windows 11 has been increased and we are leveraging our latest generation machine learning model to offer the upgrade to an expanded set of eligible devices.”
Moving forward the company says, “We will continue to train our machine learning model throughout the phased rollout to deliver a smooth upgrade experience.”

While the previous media player will be available in the Windows Tool section, this simpler media player will be Microsoft’s next-gen media consumption tool.
