The “Thriller” singer died on June 25, 2009, at his home in Los Angeles. Michael suffered a cardiac arrest caused by a fatal combination of drugs given to him by his personal doctor, Conrad Murray. He was 50 years old.

Michael’s birthday this year became tainted after a new TV special revealed that, at one point, the star had 19 different fake IDs in order to go “doctor shopping” for prescriptions.

“The way that Michael went about getting all these drugs was doctor shopping. He had multiple different doctors that he was involved with. He would go to ‘Doctor A’ and ask for a sedative, and then he would go to ‘Doctor B’ and may ask for the same one,” Michael’s plastic surgeon Dr. Harry Glassman claimed.

“Michael is responsible, to a great extent, for his own demise, but he certainly had a lot of help from the medical community.”

Murray, was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter for the role he played in Michael’s death. He later revealed that he had no idea of the “Billie Jean” crooner’s penchant for physicians.

Michael was also the father of a 20-year-old son formerly known as Blanket who now goes by Bigi.
