“Maleficent 2”: The Sizzling Face-off Between Angelina Jolie And Michelle Pfeiffer
Angelina Jolie is back as Maleficent, but with a sizzling face-off against Michelle Pfeiffer in “Maleficent 2”. The first Maleficent film dropped in 2014, making $750 million at the box office. Jolie played Maleficent, the witch who cursed Princess Aurora (played by Elle Fanning) to sleep forever. In the first part, we got to understand the story behind why Sleeping Beauty (Princess Aurora) was cursed in the first place.
After you get your heart broken and your wings chopped off, maybe you’d be in the mood to curse someone too. That’s exactly what Maleficent did. In spite of the feud, the film ended with peace between Aurora and Maleficent. So, we were happy with the natural conclusion — yay happy endings! But Maleficent apparently isn’t ready to take her horns down as she returns yet again in Maleficent 2: Mistress of Evil.
The 2019 Disney sequel began production last spring, and would be released in October just in time for Halloween. To spice it up, it features Michelle Pfeiffer as the evil Queen Ingrith. In the trailer you can witness the showdown a showdown between Jolie and Pfeiffer’s characters.
“There are many who prey on the innocent. I’m sure your kind would agree,” Maleficent tells Queen Ingrith in the film’s first teaser.
“If I didn’t know better, I’d say you were making a threat,” the Queen responds.
“Well, do you?” Maleficent asks.
“Do I what?” the Queen wonders.
“Know better,” Maleficent responds.

It’s a fantasy adventure that picks up several years after Maleficent, in which audiences [learn] of the events that hardened the heart of Disney’s most notorious villain and drove her to curse a baby Princess Aurora.
“Maleficent II” continues to explore the complex relationship between the horned fairy (Angelina Jolie) and the soon-to-be Queen (Elle Fanning), as they form new alliances and face new adversaries in their struggle to protect the moors and the magical creatures that reside within.
It’s all set to a dramatic cover of Donovan’s “Season of the Witch,” which is rather on the nose.
