“Mad Max” Star Vincent Gil Dies At 83

“Mad Max” star Vincent Gil has passed on at the age of 83. His “Mad Max” co-star Paul Johnstone confirmed the news on Monday August 23rd.

Sadly, it is true. Vince Gil has left us. He’s been very frail for quite some time and mercifully no longer needs to be constrained by his mortal form,” he said on Facebook

Paul continued. “Vince was remarkable – he rose to the occasion every time, fed off the energy of the wonderful Japanese fans, and on the occasions when I’d glance at him and be worried about his ability to keep going, he’d shrug off any concerns and showed that he had a lot more stamina than many of we much younger men

Exact cause of death has not given by him .

Born in 1939, Vincent Gil began his acting career in the late 1950s. He appeared in a number of Australian television shows throughout the 1960s and 1970s, including “Matlock Police”, “Neighbours”, “A Country Practice”, and “Prisoner”.

Gil is best known for his role as Nightrider in the 1979 film “Mad Max”. He also had a significant role in the film “Stone”, which was released in the same year. Gil continued to appear on television throughout the 1980s and 1990s, including roles on “The Flying Doctors” and “Home and Away”.

Vincent Gil was a much-loved figure in the Australian entertainment industry, and his passing will be felt by many. He will be remembered for his great talent and his many memorable performances

In addition to his work in film, Gil also appeared in television series, including “The Sullivans”. He retired from acting in the early 2000s.
