The three-time Grammy award-winning singer had teamed up with Cardi B to release the song alongside the video simultaneously.

Following some of the comments, she took to her Instagram on Sunday, August 15 to make an emotional video where she broke down in tears. The rapper said why she ordinarily ignored hateful comments, these ones got to her because she had worked so hard making the video.

“It’s fatphobic, it’s racist and it’s hurtful,” Lizzo said. “What I won’t accept is y’all doing this to Black women over and over and over again, especially us big Black girls. When we don’t fit into the box that you want to put us in, you just unleash hatred onto us. It’s not cool.”
