“Living In Bondage: Breaking Free” Is Coming To Netflix This May

“Living In Bondage: Breaking Free” Nollywood’s blockbuster movie will premiere on Netflix in the month of May.

 

Play Network Africa, the producers of this sequel made the announcement on its Instagram page.

“Living In Bondage: Breaking Free” was released in cinemas nationwide after its premiere on Saturday, 2nd November 2019.

 

This blockbuster sequel displaced “Terminator: Dark Fate” to gross ₦25.8 million in its first week.

 

The Cinema Exhibitors Association of Nigeria revealed the achievements of the film in its first weekend across 47 locations.

Living In Bondage was first released in 1992, after which a second production was done in 1993.

 

Meanwhile, at the premiere of “Living In Bondage: Breaking Free”  Charles Okpalaeke co-founder of Play Network Africa revealed why he decided to acquire the intellectual property right of the film.

 

Living In Bondage’ is the single most compelling, most consequential movie franchise in the history of the Nigerian film industry.

It is the movie which, in 1992, birthed the Nigerian movie industry that is today universally known as Nollywood; an industry that is now the world’s second-largest, most prolific film industry” He said

 

Also, “Living In Bondage: Breaking Free” won big at the 2020 AMVCA, which was hosted at Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos.

 

The film won eight awards. Ramsey Nouah, who also made his directional debut with the movie, went home with the award for Best Director.

 

Fans of Nollywood films cannot wait to see this award-winning film streaming on Netflix.
