Lenovo showed off a rollable laptop with a screen that stretches with the press of a button, just like the rollable smartphone that its subsidiary, Motorola, announced.
The computer company showed off the concept laptop at its Tech World 2022 event, with the first reactions being that the screen looks unnervingly tall. It looks like the stretchy ability adds an extra 50 percent to the screen’s height. By default, it looked like a regular notebook but then, it grows taller.

Some critics already claim that it would be much better if the screen widened instead of growing vertically, which is understandable because a laptop’s view is horizontal.

A similar feature to the Motorola rollable phone is that the display adjusts to the moving screen with the wallpaper growing with the screen and the icons moving upwards too. While the rolling mechanism was not so clear on its sister-device, the laptop’s sides feature what appears to be gear hinges that allow the screen retract and stretch on command.
You have to understand that this is a concept device, so, it may not be on the market anytime soon. In fact, there are several concept gadgets that never make it to mass production stage for one reason or the other.
Regardless, Lenovo’s investment in rollable OLED displays may open the door to a new school of electronics that could usher in more convenience and ease.
