Actress and producer Kemi Lala Akindoju has revealed that veteran actor Richard Mofe-Damijo went through rigorous preparations for his lead role in the incoming film “The Black Book”.
The actress made the revelation while wishing RMD a happy 60th birthday. Lala Akindoju said Mofe-Damijo had to on a special diet for nine months and other rigorous preparations to portray his lead role in the Editi Effiong feature film.
“I know we planned not to share anything about our film, THE BLACK BOOK, yet, but today, we are making an exception to celebrate our leading man.
Working with you for a year to make this film was beyond inspiring – your dedication to the year-long prep, which included a strict diet for 9 months, 3 days a week in the gym, and those very long and tedious hours on set, even through injuries you sustained in an accident,” the actress wrote.

Richard Mofe-Damijo in a recent interview with Chude Jideonwo revealed that he’d broken the spectre of death in his family. According to the dapper actor, his parent did not live to see 60 recalling he was apprehensive when he clocked 59.

“None of my parents lived to be 60, so life for me is just about to get started. There’s been a spectre of death around my life, that’s what I’ve been dealing with last year till this year. When I turned 59, it was a big deal for me, a big deal for me! My mom died at 59, my father died at 57/58,” he said.
