Kanye West Reportedly Richest Black Person In US With 6.6 Billion Net-worth

American rapper and business mogul Kanye West is now reportedly worth $6.6B. This makes him the richest black man and richest black person in US history.

West’s clothing and sneaker business is now valued between $3.2 billion and $4.7 billion. The business is supported by Addidas and Gap.

 

The 43-year-old has a new collaboration with Gap which is set to drop this summer, according to Bloomberg. The reports say it “could be worth as much as $970 million” of the brand’s value.

 

Kanye West who just bagged another Grammy after peeing on his previous Grammy Statuettes signed a 10-year agreement to design and sell fashion pieces under the Yeezy Gap label.

 

He also raked in $110 million from his music and has another $1.7 billion in other assets. The rapper still holds creative direction over his business ventures.

In April 2020, Forbes declared Kanye West a billionaire; a status the he had coveted for a long time.

 

His asset was placed at $1.3 billion, higher than that of his sister-in-law and makeup mogul Kylie Jenner who’s valued at $1billion at that time.

 

Added to that, Forbes said the statement of assets they received from West’s team lists $17 million in cash (£13.7 million) and 35 million in stocks.

 

West’s other notable assets, according to his team, were $81 million in property and 21 million in landed properties.

 

However, despite being classified as a billionaire, West was unhappy as he claimed Forbes have undervalued him. “It’s not a billion,” West reportedly texted them. “It’s 3.3 billion since no one at Forbes knows how to count.”
