If you are female and close to the age of 30, desperate to walk down the aisle soon then “Kambili: The Whole 30 Yards” is one film you can relate with.
9Kambili: The whole 30 yards premiered on Netflix in June 2021, and has been enjoying good reviews on the streaming platform. Nancy Isime plays the role of Kambili, a free-spirited working-class lady. However, she is a shopaholic, who keeps an untidy home and never gets early to work.
Just when she thought the universe will put a smile on her face with a 29th birthday proposal, her boyfriend (Mawuli Gavor) breaks up with her on the basis that she is not wife material.
Feeling heartbroken, she beckons on her best friend Biodun (Venita Akpofure) and Chidi (Jide Kene Achufusi) to help get her man back.

The film had a balanced storyline from the beginning to the end. It showed how Kambili metamorphosed from the disorganised lady to the businesswoman who had her life put together.
The characters were also well suited for their roles and did their best to deliver. For comic relief, Nancy Isime nailed her role with her mannerisms and facial expressions.
However, the storyline was cliche. The film became very predictable at the end and that just takes away the magic. Is it compulsory that she ends up with her best friend?
“Kambili: The Whole 30 Yards ” is a nice film that young people will enjoy watching, and if you ever feel pressured to marry because of age, this film will make you have a rethink.
