On Wednesday, men of the Nigerian police force shot a 14yr old girl, and Nigerians on Twitter joined forces to demand justice for her.
According to reports, some policemen in Iyana Oworo, Lagos State tried to effect the arrest of a bus driver for breaking curfew rules.
Shortly, one of them fired at the bus driver shooting the conductor and young Tina. She was rushed to the hospital but later died in the early hours of Friday.
As Nigerians grieve, they also continually called for the killer policemen to be brought to book. Many Nigerian celebrities joined their voices to the demand for justice and the hashtag #JusticeForTina trended non stop on Twitter.
The Lagos State Police command spoke person Bala Elkana, however, revealed that the policemen involved are in custody. He also said an investigation process was ongoing.

Aren’t @PoliceNG, @rrslagos767 sick of your men killing innocent Nigerians every now and then?
Aren’t you tired of covering them up more often than not?
May Tina’s killers and whoever covers them up know no peace until justice is served.#JusticeForTina

We all need to demand #JusticeForTina
All she did was stand at a popular junction and she was shot by a Nigerian Policeman
It could be anyone of us, and we will not stop until we have a reform of the Nigerian Police Force
I don’t want to mind my business and still be shot
