The fictional TV character created by Funke Akindele-Bello, ‘Jenifa’, has become a game character.
Akindele-Bello posted of her elation on this success from her Instagram page yesterday that the game is now available for Android and iOS phones.
Jenifa Spells Launches
Funke Akindele-Bello revealed that her team has completed a game named “Jenifa Spells”. This game is built around Jenifa’s character in an interactive chat with Pulse.
She said, “I am out with a game now. We are launching the ‘Jenifa Spells’ which teaches people how to spell. It is an educational game that was developed by our team.”
It is a simple, engaging word game where players help Jenifa spell words correctly, thus, improving the player’s vocabulary. They can also bring friends and family together by competing to get to the top of the leaderboard. Also, providing fans with a more intimate experience as they hear the Jenifas Diary theme song. Jenifa’s voice cheers them on while they play.
The Actress and mother of two also attributed the creation of the game to the immense support and advice she has gotten from her hubby, Abdulrasheed Bello aka JJC Skillz.
The director and producer wrote and co-produced the comedy-drama, with the major character being ‘Jenifa In 2008.
Following the huge success of the movie, She also gained recognition in the industry. She won the Best Actress award in a Leading Role at the Africa Movies Academy Awards, she then made a sequel to the movie, titling it ‘Return of Jenifa’ in 2011.
She then went on to consolidate on the success by making the fictional character a regular series on TV. ‘Jenifa’s Diary’s’ launching in 2015 hit TV series, documenting the life and activities of the fictional character. The series is currently in its 17th season.
Funke also runs a movie streaming platform, SceneOne TV, The new game is an extension of the movie franchise, which her husband, Abdul-Rasheed Bello known as JJC Skillz designs.
