Hold your breath, Issa Rae is teaming up with Jordan Peele to produce a psychological horror film titled “Sinkhole.”
According to Deadline, Universal Pictures in a 7 figure deal has acquired the rights to the screenplay written by Leyna Krow which is about a young family that moves into its dream home despite the gaping sinkhole in the backyard. The story seeks to explore the dynamics of society’s notion of female perfection.
The film will particularly highlight the ways society and cultures can promote the concept of women as imperfect or broken. Universal pictures beat out 10 other studio bidders and multiple talents to acquire the screen rights to “Sinkhole.”

The film once screened, will paint the picture of female identity using the elements of mystery and science. Fans are already excited about the idea of a horror sci-fi produced by both Issa Rae and Jordan Peele.
