Instagram users have dragged Nollywood actress Mercy Aigbe for advising young ladies on how to date married men in a YouTube video. The video did not go well with them as they insulted her, stating that she is supposed to be a role model.

In the video, Mercy Aigbe advised ladies dating married men to ensure they enrich themselves to the fullest. She stated that single women who date married men and request for chocolates should get their heads examined because falling in love with a married man is a waste of effort.

The mother of two recently embraced YouTube to promote her brand as well as voice her opinion on trending topics. Last week, she released a video talking about all she went through in her marriage which she disclosed was characterised by domestic violence.

Mercy revealed all she had to go through in the hands of her ex-husband Lanre Gentry, advising women not to remain in abusive relationships. She stated that marriage is overrated. Mercy also advised women to not die in abusive marriages because of their children.

Mercy Aigbe’s domestic violence tale went viral in 2017. There were allegations that it was due to infidelity on her part. However, she charged her husband to court and they went back and forth on the story.

What is your take on Mercy Aigbe’s advice? Has she failed as a role model by advising single girls on how to date married men? Also, has she failed as a celebrity by using her status as a public figure to promote the idea of an extramarital affair which the society frowns on?

Or did she make all these statements to drive traffic to her YouTube channel which is already attracting views and subscribers?
