Infinix Hot 12i specs teased as part of coming Hot 12 series

Infinix has teased specs and features of Hot 12i, a low-end smartphone that is supposed to be a part of its coming Hot 12 series, see more details…

Infinix Hot 12 series will contain three budget smartphones and the phone maker tested the waters with an announcement of the 12i. According to GSMArena, the smartphone was launched in Nigeria on 12 April 2022.

While the details are sparse, we see that its display is quite large, measuring 6.82 inches and an LCD screen with 720 pixels resolution. This is not a disappointing display spec considering that it is a low-end device with 2GB/3GB RAM (extendable to 7GB) and 64GB storage space.

Under the hood, an Helio A22 chipset runs the smartphone hardware while XOS 7.6 (based on Android 11) powers the software aspect. The Infinix 12i has a 2.0GHz quad-core CPU, the same processor that Nokia 2.3 and Huawei Y5 used.

Perhaps, what is most impressive is that it packs a 5,000mAh battery and will likely last longer than many higher-end smartphones when you compare the computation that they would be doing every second. However, it still uses the micro-USB port for charging, which might be an issue as most of the world has moved on to type-C chargers.

In the camera department, the phone is unsurprisingly no superstar. Its 8MP selfie camera and two rear snappers – a 13MP lens and 2MP shooter – means that you won’t be getting the best camera experience in the world. But no one is expecting that, and Infinix Hot 12i will be able to capture some decent shots.

At launch, it came in Black, Green, Gold, and Blue variants and pricing of $150 (NGN61,800) for 2GB/64GB and $170 (NGN 67,000) for 3GB/64GB versions.

Infinix has not revealed any detail for the next two smartphones in the Hot 12 series, but be assured that we will be there when it does.
