Popular Nigerian rapper Panshak Zaman, aka Ice Prince, has been released on bail from the Ikoyi correctional facility after spending about six nights there.
On Friday, September 9th, the musician’s lawyer, Folarin Dalmeida, confirmed his release to TheCable Lifestyle.
On September 2nd, the musician was arrested by the Lagos police command for allegedly assaulting a police officer.
He is on trial on three counts of assault, obstructing a police officer from carrying out his or her statutory duties, and abduction.
The court had previously granted him bail in the amount of ₦500,000 with the requirement that he provide two sureties.
His remand at the Ikoyi correctional facility was also ordered by the court until he met the bail conditions.
Dalmeida claims that the “Oleku” singer was released on Thursday September 8th after the court certified that he has met the bail conditions.

The lawyer said the rapper met the bail conditions before Thursday but his release was delayed due to the verification process.
“Yes, he (Ice Prince) was released yesterday (Thursday). He met the bail conditions even before Thursday but the verification process was what delayed his release,” he said.
The rapper’s trial was billed to start on Wednesday September 7th at the magistrate court sitting in the Ajah area of Lagos.
But the court adjourned the case till October 24 after the prosecution counsel said his witnesses did not show up.
