“I Was Struggling To Finish School, Home-Schooled Myself” – Kaffy

Kafayat Oluwatoyin Shafau-Ameh, popularly known as Kaffy, was interviewed on the seventh episode of “Binging with GameChangers”. Over the years, she has established a brand as a dancer, choreographer, dance instructor and fitness coach. In the interview with Seyi Banigbe, she talks about her journey.

The dance sensation is widely admired for her passion for dance. She is the founder of Imagneto Dance Company. They provide varied services, such as dance, choreography and fitness, to individuals and corporate organisations. Also, Kaffy has built a chain of businesses from dance. She has always loved dancing, right from childhood. And in spite of the struggles to educate herself and fend for her family after her parent’s divorce, she pursued her passion.

Dancing to fame

Kaffy began dancing by veering into an aerobics class at the National Stadium in an attempt to lose weight. Initially, her teacher appointed her to lead the class despite not knowing much. She creatively infused dance into aerobics which promoted her into training athletes.

After a modelling agent approached her with a job during one weekend of dance aerobics, her path to success continued. Although she was reluctant to dance, she eventually did it during the event and impressed many artistes with her performance. The rest, you could say, is history.

Her achievements so far include a fitness and wellness outfit, a dance convention and an apparel enterprise. Also, she has featured in numerous award-winning music videos for many A-list artistes in Nigeria and across the globe. In addition, she won a Special Recognition Award at the Headies in 2018 for her significant contribution to the Nigerian entertainment industry.
