Huawei’s Former Arm Releases Its Honor’s Magic 3 Flagship Smartphone

Huawei’s former arm Honor has released its Magic 3 flagship smartphone with Google’s apps and services. The exact dates of the global release have not been announced by the company.

The Honor Magic 3 smartphone has all of Google’s goodness, the Magic series has three new devices. The Magic 3, Magic 3 Pro, and Magic Pro Plus. These smartphones will be available first in Mainland China and later at a soon-to-released global date.

 

Honor’s Magic 3 with 8GB of RAM and 256 GB storage retails for $1,o66. Maintaining the same configuration, the Magic 3 Pro will cost $1,290. A 12GB RAM with 512GB storage Magic 3 Pro Plus will retail for $1,765.

Honor’s Magic 3 Pro and Pro Plus have under the hood, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 plus processor while the Magic 3 has Snapdragon 888 processor. The Magic 3 is rated IP54 dust and water resistance, with the Proline increasing to an IP68 rating.

 

All the smartphones sport a 6.76-inch 1344p OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. At the back, things are quite different. The Magic 3 has three cameras: A large 50-megapixel 1/1.56-inch main camera, a 13-megapixel 1/1.31-inch ultrawide, and a 64-megapixel monochrome camera.

 

The more expensive Magic 3 Pro has an additional 54-megapixel telephoto camera with a 1/2-inch sensor, 3.5x optical zoom, and OIS. Honor’s Pro Plus has a beefer 50-megapixel sensor to 1/1.28-inches and an ultra-wide sensor to 64 megapixels.

Battery life for the Magic 3 lineup has a battery capacity of 4,600mAh, with support for wired fast-charging up to 66W. Meanwhile, the Pro and Pro Plus has wireless charging up to 50W and additional reverse wireless charging.

 

Huawei recently announced the P50 top-of-the-line smartphone with HarmonyOS, currently launched for the Chinese market. The company launched two flavors, the P50, and the P50 Pro. The very first Huawei smartphone to ship with HarmonyOS.

As recently teased by Huawei, the P50 have very large camera modulesQualcomm was last year granted permission to begin selling chips to the Chinese phone maker. Hence the occurrence of the HarmonyOS, its own operating system.

 

It has no Google apps, play store, or services, solely built for the Chinese market. In a plain sentence, it doesn’t run Android.

 

These Flagship smartphones have crazy specifications, the P50 Pro has four rear cameras, a 50-megapixel main, 64-megapixel telephoto with 3.5x optical zoom, a 40-megapixel monochrome, and a 13-megapixel ultra-wide.

Since the United States ban, Huawei has not been able to sell phones made with its own kirin chips in the U.S. Honor on the other hand have access to Google’s suite of apps and services. Huawei continues to invest massively in research and development as it builds its HarmonyOS to top-notch.
