Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has announced that it has completed the deployment of four COVID-19 Test Labs in India. According to IndianWeb2, the company also deployed four Out Patient Department (OPD) centres to help the country contain the pandemic.
HPE is helping India increase its number of authorised COVID-19 testing facilities and isolation centres. It will then hand over the facilities to the Indian government which will be responsible for its day-to-day running.
The labs are equipped with biometric, blood pressure apparatus, spirometer, serum analyser, oxymeter, glucometer, pulse reader, and ECG. HPE will also provide the labs with suitable IT equipment. This includes; workstations, networking components, thermal cameras, headphones, and UPS systems.
The facilities are also equipped with the Aruba Cloud Managed Wireless solution and Aruba User Experience Insight (UXI) sensor. This will ensure the centres experience very little downtime, resolving any potential issues remotely. After all, restrictions of movement and interactions are tools in containing the pandemic. The Aruba solution offers zero-touch provisioning, remote management, and remote diagnosis.

“As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to challenge local communities across the world, we are responding with initiatives to support the communities where we live and work. The deployment of COVID-19 Test Labs and OPD Centers will support the governments’ efforts to prevent, detect and respond to COVID-19”, MD, HPE-India, Som Satsangi said in a statement.
The OPD centres will serve as isolation centres for people with COVID-19 symptoms. From there, the authorities will send them home or to the appropriate ward after further testing and observation.
HPE had previously pledged over $2 billion to support its ecosystem through its COVID-19 related financial challenges.
