TD Africa’s end of the year party, “Celebrating You”, took place on Sunday, 8th December 2019 at Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The event was well attended by various key players in the technology industry, the staff of Zinox Group, and friends of the company.
Hosted by veteran comedian Okey Bakassi and SLK (Boda Wasiu), the main event started off at about 7 pm. Pastor Emmanuel Eze kicked off the event with the opening prayer. Following this was an orchestra performance led by Blessing Agwu.
Stanley Okpalaeke, the chairman of the Organising Committee in his welcome address gave a brief history of TD Africa. He explained how the company was born out of the necessity to give Nigerians access to technology.
He then explained how the company has been able to survive global upheavals such as the economic meltdown of 2007/2008. Furthermore, Okpalaeke stated that TD offers credit facilities to partners. The company also organises entrepreneurial programmes for graduates, device financing programme with Access Bank and the newest being “This Is Me” programme, channelled for young women in ICT.

Leo Stan Ekeh, the Chairman of Zinox Group, in his speech appreciated partners of the company for their business relationship. He then called on the ex-Governor of Anambra State, Mr Peter Obi to talk to all present for a few minutes.
Peter Obi, the former Governor of Anambra State, went down memory lane to the time when he wanted to buy 30,000 computer units from Zinox. He applauded Leo Stan Ekeh for being a credible businessman, for keeping to his word and also for delivering as promised.
He advised young people to take their eyes off the government and look at other avenues where they can make themselves useful and make a mark.
The CEO Technology Distributions (TD) Africa, Chioma Ekeh, in her speech spoke on the human mind. She explained that we must remain focused and determined if our dreams must leave our mind to find its place in existence.
Towards the end of her speech, she emphasised that young people should not be afraid of failure. According to her, failure is not necessarily a mistake but may actually be part of one’s education to achieving success.
On hand to entertain the guests were MCs Okey Bakassi and SLK (Boda Wasiu) who hosted the event. The staff of the company couldn’t remain on their seats with amazing performances from Kizz Daniel and Flavour.
The event after-party, sponsored by CIROC and Pepsi, lingered until the early hours of Monday morning.
This year’s edition of Celebrating You beat many attendees’ expectations. From the venue to the food, music, the beautiful outfits and the calibre of dignitaries in attendance, everything worked out well to make the event a success.

Mrs Chijioke Eze was awarded the staff of the year and was gifted the sum of 500,000 by the Chairman of Zinox Group, Mr Leo Stan Ekeh.
Earlier in the year, TD Africa had started a promo for its partners which ran for four months, and the prize was a brand new pickup truck. There was a raffle draw during the event to select the partner that would go home with the brand new truck. After the raffle draw, Edgebase Line Solutions Limited emerged the winner.
